I am having a problem with the WP-Filebase plugin that seems to be a caching issue.
I am hosting with WP-Engine and they manage my caching. I have a staging site and the plugin works great.
When I install the plugin on my live site, the files seem to sync just fine. However, when I click a file to download it on the front end of the site, it shows a 404 page not found error.
I really like the plugin and would like to purchase the Pro version, but I need it to work with my caching.
Example: (download file is under the "Spec Sheet" tab)
It works on the staging site here: http://vericormed.staging.wpengine.com/product/24-vaccination-workstation-mc-24/
It does not work on the live site here: http://www.vericormed.com/product/24-vaccination-workstation-mc-24/
This is the response from WP-Engine Tech Support:
"Thanks for contacting WP Engine support. I looked further into this problem with the spec tabs not working properly and bringing back a 404 page. There is a setting in the wp-filebase plugin that tells WordPress that the files reside somewhere else, but we want the viewer to see it in the "downloads" directory. But something along the way is saying the folder doesn't exist where its looking and stops there returning the 404 error.
I suggest contacting the plugin developer and see what paths the plugin follows because its conflicting with the cache."
